Shelf Equine Hospital

Our RCVS accredited equine hospital based in West Yorkshire is looking for two enthusiastic vets to start a fixed term 12 or 18 month in house internship. The supported role involves a 4-week rotation through:

  • Over-seeing inpatient care
  • Assisting with anaesthesia
  • Investigating poor performance, lameness examinations and diagnostic imaging (MRI, CT, Digital radiography and state-of-the-art ultrasound machine).
  • An ambulatory component working alongside senior veterinary surgeons and working independently on routine calls.

The OOH rota is 1 in 4 and duties involve inpatient care and emergency admissions at the hospital. Accommodation is provided. This exciting and varied role will enable the successful candidate to develop skills in a wide range of disciplines and there will be huge potential for this role to evolve as your career develops.

West Yorkshire Large Animal Ambulatory

We have a fantastic opportunity for a veterinary surgeon to join our 6 man ambulatory large animal vet team within our independent 30 vet mixed practice.  Located the beautiful Pennine countryside with easy access to the major West Yorkshire infra structure this is as a truly mixed large animal role which can be tailored to suit the right candidate and will involve equine and farm work. An interest in reproduction would be encouraged but not essential. An experienced team of vets, including diploma and certificate holders, are at hand to provide support during routine visits and out of hours as well as the support supplied by our equine hospital. The position would suit someone interested in a diverse case load. We are passionate about developing our own staffs’ career aspirations and CPD and certificate enrolment is encouraged and supported. Generous remuneration in line with experience will be provided. 1 in 5 rota. Full and part time candidates considered.

 

Small Animal Practice

In the heart of West Yorkshire, our RCVS Tier 2 Small animal practice and two branches have a wide and varied case load. The recently, purpose built, fully equipped main surgery is located next the historic Halifax Minister across the road from the world-famous Piece Hall and within easy walking distance of the train station. The role would involve mainly first opinion work, depending on experience, with a good mix of consulting and operating with a flexible out of hours rota.  Consult times are tailored to experience. Our small animal team of 8 work as part of our expanding 30 vet independent practice and are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, ambitious individual with excellent communication skills. The practice benefits from a large team of qualified nurses as well as experienced lay staff. Experience preferred. Full and part time candidates considered. Generous remuneration and time off provided.
